Wine Producer - Europe - Italy
| Cantina Bolzano Kellerei Bozen | St. Magdalener and Lagrein are grown around Bolzano and in the surrounding area. Today we can proudly assert that the grapes which go into the two prestigious wines most closely associated with Bolzano are grown in very finest sites and only the highest quality fruit is delivered to our winery. The hamlets of Santa Maddalena, Santa Giustina and Coste supply the grapes for St. Magdalena, while Lagrein grapes are grown mainly at Gries. Soils there are perfect for the production of world-class wines. Other determining factors are environmentally friendly cultivation methods, enormous application and hard work put in by the growers, and rigorous selection of only the best quality, healthiest grapes at harvest time. Our members know that quality starts in the vineyard.
In our cellars gleaming stainless steel tanks feature alongside traditional oak casks and French oak barriques to ensure each wine is matured under optimum conditions.
This is where the finishing touches are put to wines deriving from the most varied sites around Bolzano:
white wines characterised by a fresh and fruity bouquet such as Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio, full flavoured and aromatic white wines such as Sauvignon, Gewuerztraminer, Mueller Thurgau and Silvaner, red wines including the light-textured but delicious St. Magdalener, as well as richer and more full-bodied wines including Pinot Noir, Lagrein, Merlot and Cabernet.

| | Cà del Vènt - Exclusive wines in Franciacorta district | The story of this winery dates back officially from 1994, when the two owners, Paolo Clerici and Massimo Fasoli, urged by a deep and firm passion for wine and winemaking, decided to turn one of their oldest property into what today is Cà del Vènt (literally "the Windy House"). The reason was an ambitious plan they have been saving in their mind for a long time : creating the best wine this territory could ever offer and give people the chance to enjoy this exclusiveness.
Cà del Vènt is located on the outer southern area of the Franciacorta region, on top of the Campiani hills (350 mt.), between the two villages of Cellatica and Collebeato, historically an extraordinary place for wines.
Nature at Cà del Vènt has been undoubtedly generous: the slopes and the south-west exposure of the terrains, the climate and the wide temperature range between day and night, a steady breeze (which gives the name to the villa and the property), the clayey soil, they all play an important role in making those precious vineyards definitely unique.
In most cases we proceed to late harvesting and we pick up the grapes when they are definitely ripe : the wines are thus important, with an exceptional personality and intense aromas.
Quality comes even from the way we set the vines : we have one of the highest density ratio in the world. From 7000 plants per hectare we harvest only 5000 kilos of grapes. Rules and regulation in the Franciacorta region allowe us from 10000 to 15000 kilos, but we choose instead to grow few grapes where sugar and flavour are intense and unique.
When the grapes are ripe we pick them up manually in small boxes. They are then treated with dry ice for the time they waited to be pressed : all their features are thus preserved.

| | Tenuta San Leonardo | Marchese Carlo Guerrieri Gonzaga's family has owned Tenuta San Leonardo for more than two hundred years. Over the centuries, the Guerrieri Gonzagas have striven to transplant to this corner of Trentino, just north of Verona, the spirit of the great châteaux that brought fame and prestige to the wines of Bordeaux. At Tenuta San Leonardo, the classic Bordeaux varieties are planted and looked after with the scrupulous attention to detail, dedication to quality, and patient effort in vineyard and cellar that they enjoy in their homeland. As in Bordeaux, the goal is to obtain a small range of precisely typed wines that express the spirit of their territory, and the personality of their producer.
The estate covers a total of 300 hectares of which 22 are planted to vine.
San Leonardo wine has been for many years among the prizewinners in the various wine guides: it won ten times the award "Tre Bicchieri" of Gambero Rosso and the vintage 1997 was at twelfth position in the Wine Spectator Top Ten of "the Best Wines in the world".
In 2006 we won the Oscar of "the Best Estate in Italy".
"We are determined to create few but highly characteristic wines, direct expressions of our soil, communicating our personality and philosophy through careful attention detail, constant striving for quality, meticulous cultivation of the vines and monastic patience in the cellar"

| | Azienda Agricola Abrigo Giovanni | My farm is in Piedmont (Italy), in Diano d'Alba (8 km.from Alba)
In this wonderful hilly area, I cultivate 8 hectares of vineyard and throughwine-making I produce 4 C.D.O. wines: Dolcetto di diano d'Alba, Barberad'Alba, Nebbiolo d'Alba and Langhe Favorita.
The winery its open all days for to visit and tasting wines and Piemonte
hazelnuts.
Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba wine which has a good structure. It requires a
period of refining to ripen and to strengthen its fruity scent, the almond-scented aftertaste and the ruby red colour.
Barbera d'Alba refining is partly done in a big barrel and partly in small
French oak vats. I then bottle "MARMINELA" and put it in the cave with the bottles laid down for six months. Nebbiolo d'Alba passes its first year in the cave, in a wood barrel where it gets a soft scent and refines its fragrances, especially viola's scent and WHITE WINE Langhe
Favorita Straw-coloured, bright aspect. You can just feel little bubbles of
Natural gas of fermentation.

| | Castello del Terriccio |
Castello del Terriccio is a 4,200-acre estate in Maremma, Tuscanys famed southern coastal region whose origin dates back to the Middle Ages. Originally serving as a working farm, the estates wine was traditionally sold unbottled. It was not until the late 1980s that owner Gian Annibale Rossi di Medelana, in an effort to restructure the estates activities, made viticulture the primary focus of the estate. Influenced by his love for Bordeaux-style wines and seeing the success of coastal wineries in nearby Bolgheri, Rossi di Medelana staked the estates future on its winemaking potential which its many accolades, beginning with a rare Tre Bicchieri award for its first release, the 1993 vintage of Lupicaia, prove to be extraordinary.

| | Corte dAibo | Just 20 Km far from Bologna is Monteveglio's Abbey Regional Park, a beautiful scenery of smooth hills decorated by endless vineyards, fruit-trees rows and wheat fields.
In the hearth of the Park on the property called D'AIBO-from the latin aibus meaning shelter-stands the farming Court of "LA CORTE".
The bolognaise red of the house pays a tribute to the ancient origin of the place which dates back to XVI sec. In former times a cluster, as witnessed by the numberous architraves and niches, now an elegant and peaceful resort.
The whole estate of LA CORTE has been recently restored respecting the original features but without any lack of modern comforts. There are four bedrooms and a Restaurant.
The menù proposed by the Restaurant is based on the typical products of the area. The wine comes directly from the estate's wine-cellar.
Recently an old hay-loft has been transformed into a large hall suitable to host ceremonies, conferences, meetings, workshops of various kind. Thanks to its dimensions the place is suitable for physical activities as well.
In the Restaurant it's possible to organize buffets and banquets to meet the need
of the client.

| | AZ. AGR. CASCINA ZOINA | A company born to a passion ripened during the holidays in wine areas of France. A passion that led Marco and Daniela to buy, in 1999, a small vineyard on the Mezzomericos hills. Since then just a hobby became gradually an activity that leads three hectares of vineyard entered the designation of origin controlled Colline Novaresi.
From the outset their philosophy is based on "low yields to work on the quality", then the choice to make vineyards with sixths of plant close and a high density, 5,000 7,000 plants to hectare, with yields which do not exceed the 7,0 tons per hectare. The vines Guyot pruned, are Nebbiolo, Vespolina, Barbera and Erbaluce, always present on Colline Novaresi, able to give, thanks to the climate in this area, wines with a complexity of aromas essential for a superior quality.
About 20.000 bottles year produced with enthusiasm, passion and a commitment to transfer, in each bottle, unique imprint of the grapes of the territory, in an unmistakable together of flavours and aromas, capable of transmitting with force that identity that is the expression of Colline Novaresi.

| | Les Cretes winery | Les Crêtes’ History: Originally from France, the Charrère family moved in the mid 1700s to what is now the Aosta Valley of Italy. They started out as farmers and millers, establishing a home site and building a water powered mill on their property in Aymaville. In 1955 the Charrères planted their first two hectares of grapes, focusing on making quality wines out of the indigenous vinifera varieties grown in the Aosta Valley. In 1989 the Charrères enlarged the original estate and built the Les Crêtes winery. The old mill and home site will soon be restored for use as an agritourism destination.
Les Crête’s Vineyards: With 25 hectares (62 acres) of grapes dedicated to wine production, Les Crêtes is the largest privately held vineyard and winery operation in the Aosta Valley. The Aosta Valley, located in northwest Italy, is Italy’s smallest and least populated region. It is an alpine valley with grape growing conditions typically associated with mountain elevations. Close to Mont Blanc and surrounded on three sides by the Italian, French and Swiss Alps, it is a beautiful and unique part of Italy.
Les Crêtes vineyards are planted in both indigenous vinifera varieties (Petite Arvine, Petit Rouge, Fumin, Mayolet, Cornalin), as well as the more traditional vinifera varieties (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Muscat) which are also well adapted to the region’s climate and soil conditions.
Les Crêtes vineyards are located along the Aosta Valley’s Dora Baltea river and are distributed among vineyard blocks in six different villages; Saint Pierre, Aymavilles, Gressan, Sarre, Aosta and Saint Christophe. Plant densities in the vineyards range from 7,000 to 8,000 vines per hectare.
Because the Charrères believe great wines always start with quality grapes, vineyard management at Les Crêtes is firmly based on a meticulous agronomic management system. Spraying to control diseases is kept to a minimum to protect the regions delicate terroir and to follow the new E.U. rural policies for preserving mountainous areas.
The soils that have developed over the centuries on the glacial morain hillsides around Aymaville are composed of a mixture of sand and calcareous rocks. Les Crêtes vineyards are located at relatively high mountain elevations (600 to 1,000 m. /1,970 to 3,280 ft.), and due to the high elevation climatic conditions, the harvests at Les Crêtes often begin in late autumn. This gives the grapes time to ripen while exposed to a wide variation in day and night temperatures, a natural process which adds to the unique aromatic character and flavour profile of the resulting wines.
Les Crête’s Winemaking: Les Crêtes produces about 230,000 bottles annually (19,200 cases). The winery, the heart of the estate, is located in the scenic Aymavilles area of the Aosta Valley. Visitors to the winery can view the 16th Century Côteau la Tour tower which stands high above the surrounding vineyards and is the symbol of Les Crêtes and its line of quality crafted wines.

| | Fattoria di Bagnolo di Marco Bartolini Baldelli- Impruneta | The farm Fattoria di Bagnolo is situated in the municipality of Impruneta, not far from Florence. From its marvellous location, on the top of a hill at 220 m, you have a splendid view over the hills of the Chianti. The Fattoria di Bagnolo is certainly the farm of the Bartolini Baldelli family which produces most wines. The position on a sunny and ventilated hill, the special micro-climate and the geological structure, enhance the characteristics of the autochthonous vines and olive trees. As a matter of fact, since remote times, the products grown in Impruneta have always been known for their quality.
The farm dates back to 1419, when it was called "Al Fonte". It belonged to the Machiavelli family from 1458 to 1485. In 1811 Bartolommeo Bartolini Baldelli, counsellor to the Grand Duke of Tuscany, fell in love with this property and wanted to purchase it for his summer holidays, thanks to its magnificent Villa from the 16th century. The complex was recently restructured carefully in order to not change the historical building, though adding the necessary modern equipment to be able to continue to produce products of high qualities. Together with the modern wine cellar for the wine production, you find the ancient cellar from the 16th century under the Villa.
Today the farm features 5 hectares of vines, producing a wine with the mark Indicazione Geografica Tipica (Typical Geographic Indication), 5 hectares of vines with the mark Chianti Colli fiorentini DOCG ( the changes in the wine production carried out during the last years have added to the traditional Sangiovese and Colorino grapes, grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot), and 6327 olive trees.

| | Azienda Agricola Casa Barone | Casa Barone is most well-known organic farm in the National Park of Vesuvius, Naples, Italy.
The organic cultivation of Casa Barone spread out along the lands which had been crossed by the Lavas of the eruption in 1944, shaping a striking landscape. Here, the clear sign of the destroying gigantic volcanic eruption fades thanks to the tidy beauty of the cultivated land, result of man’s work. The farming arrangement reflects the typical Vesuvian orchard; among volcanic rocks, oak trees and brooms are alternating vineyards for grapes such Caprettone, Catalanesca, Piedirosso, and Aglianico, apricot trees, plum trees, mulberry trees, sorbs trees, fig trees, walnut trees and citrus trees.

| | VINI CALCINARI | CALCINARI’S WINE FARM is a new reality in Italy and in the area of Pesaro. The holder Gilberto Calcinari, after years of wine-making experience, decided to create his own brand using grapes of his production to obtain high quality and great level wines.
So, he starts a new line of wines designed not only for those who appreciate wine as distinctive features of a meal, but also for anyone who thinks that the wine is an expression of culture rooted in the territory from which originates.
From the hills of Calcinari’s Wine Farm appears Rocca di Gradara (Gradara’s fortress)where Paolo and Francesca had their meeting of love made immortal by Dante in The Divine Comedy. From these suggestions was born the inspiration of Dante’s Cantos.
The vineyards situated in a small, uncontaminated, valley favourably exposed to the sun, have all the best conditions to produce new wines and refined tastes.
The attention to the quality of all phases of production, suggested a methodology where, original work along with modern winemaking techniques, still use manual procedures for the most delicate operations, like grape harvest, where are chosen, to raise the quality selecting from the vineyard, one by one, the best grapes.
