The ā€˛Vlassides Wineryā€¯ estate is located in the mountain village of Kilani in the Troodos region in the south of the island of Cyprus. The young owner, Sophocles Vlassides, is considered to be one of the star winemakers on Cyprus. He acquired his viticultural knowledge at the University of California in Davis. After completing his studies, he returned to Cyprus in 1998, and established a small garagiste winery in the Californian style. An ultra-modern cellar was built in Kilani in 2007. The premium wines include the Shiraz, which is matured in barriques for 6 months, and the Bordeaux-style red blend made from Cabernet Sauvignon with a little Cabernet Franc and Merlot.
