1) Sub-region within the Alentejo region and DOC in Portugal, named after the city of the same name. DOC Borba can still be found on labels of older bottles of wine. Mainly red wines are produced, and a small amount of white wines, from the indigenous varieties Aragonez, Moreto, Periquita (Castelão Francês), Perrum, Rabo de Ovelha, Roupeiro, Tamarez and Trincadeira.
