Andalucía

DO region that corresponds with the DO region Malaga, in Spain. Both thus have a vineyard area of around 1.200 hectares. The region was classified in 2001, and applies to white, rosé and red wines with an alcohol content of less than 15% vol. The red and rosé wines are blends made primarily from Romé, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Tempranillo. In addition, Garnacha Tinta, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir and Petit Verdot are also permitted. The white wines are made primarily from Pedro Ximénez, Moscatel de Málaga (Muscat d´Alexandrie), Moscatel Morisco (Muscat Blanc), Chardonnay, Macabeo and Sauvignon Blanc. In addition, Lairén (Airén), Doradilla and Colombard are also permitted.
