DO located in the province of Cuenca in the La Mancha region in central Spain. A continental climate prevails here, with mild summers and cool winters. The soil consists of gravel and boulder, with eroded breaks in what was formerly a river bed, and sandy alluvial soils with clay along the banks. Permitted red varieties are Bobal, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah und Tempranillo.
