The „Bodegas Franco - Españolas S.A.” estate is located in the city of Logroño in the Rioja Alta sub-region of Rioja in Spain. The Ebro river separates the bodega from the historic part of the city. It was founded in 1890. Today it is owned by Marcos Eguizábal Ramirez, who also own the Paternina estate. The vineyard area totals only 50 hectares, with large quantities of grapes being bought in. In terms of quality control, the international HACCP standards are complied with. The estate has 15.000 barriques. The wide range of Rioja wines includes, for example, the red wines Barón d´Anglade (Tempranillo, Graciano, Mazuelo), Bordón (Tempranillo, Garnacha), Excelso (Tempranillo, Graciano, Mazuelo), Royal (Tempranillo, Garnacha, Graciano, Mazuelo) and Royal Claret (Tempranillo, Garnacha, Mazuelo); the Bordón Rosado (Garnacha, Viura); as well as the white wines Bordón Blanco (Viura), Diamante (Viura, Malvasía), Rinsal (Viura) and Vina Soledad Joven Blanco (Viura). Around 40% of production is exported.
