The estate is located in the centre of the city of Almendralejo (Badajoz province) in the DO Ribera del Guadiana in the Extremadura region in Spain. It was founded by Marcelino Díaz Sánchez in 1931, he was regarded as a pioneer of estate-bottled wines in the Extremadura region. The vineyards are located in the Tierra de Barros subregion, and are planted with the following red varieties: Tempranillo, Macabeo, Pardina and Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as with the white varieties Chardonnay, Macabeo and Sauvignon Blanc. Wine production involves traditional methods in the vineyard combined with state-of-the-art cellar technology. Some of the wines are matured in barrels of American oak. Cava is also produced.
