Game against Pälzer Ausles' team

The German Wine Eleven, the football team of the German wine industry, plays against the Pälzer Ausles' team in Siebeldingen in the Pfalz region on 30th April. Entrance is free.

At 17h00 on 30th April, the wine eleven faces up to a selection of previous top sportsmen from the Pfalz region. This team, the Pälzer Ausles', combines ex-high-performance sportsmen from 16 different types of sport, and was founded as long ago as 1979. Some of the players who have announced they will be appearing for the Pälzer Ausles' team include Helmut Brendel (football), Volker Diehl (cycling), Willi Heckmann (wrestling), Uwe Krapp (football) as well as the former Bundesliga referee Thomas Leimert. Players for the wine eleven team include among others Hansjörg Rebholz of the estate of the same name in Siebeldingen, wine producers Kristian Dautermann, Philipp Wittmann, Stefan Winter and Jochen Dreissigacker from the Rheinhessen region as well as Professor Hans-Rainer Schultz and Michael Ludwig of the Geisenheim research institute. As usual, Lothar Böhm will be coaching the wine eleven. (WF)
