The French wine trade fair Vinexpo is apparently upset, as its Asian version is to face unexpected competition.

The Vinexpo Asia-Pacific show, considered by experts to be the most important wine trade fair in Aisa, is facing new competition at short notice. Just three months after the trade fair taking place in Hong Kong at the end of May, and organised by Vinexpo France, the Hong Kong International Wine Expo will open its gates at the same venue. A spokesperson for Vinexpo called this decision opportunistic, but a speaker for the new trade fair in Hong Kong reacted in a relaxed manner. He said one is aiming at different target groups, with a stronger focus on Asian producers, and the show would be open to the public for one day. (WF)
