Frescobaldi rejects allegations
Readers letter (so far 0)
In a press release the Frescobaldi estate has rejected allegations.
The company, which has been named in conjunction with the Brunello affair (as reported on Wein-Plus) has stated that wines bearing the designations Brunello di Montalcino DOCG and Rosso di Montalcino DOC, and distributed by Marchesi de' Frescobaldi, "were produced exclusively from grapes sourced from vineyards in line with the current regulations". International grape varieties are used "exclusively for the production of some of our Super Tuscans (IGT)". All the required documentation and information had been handed over to the authorities responsible; the company is "convinced that the matter will soon be sorted out". (WF/press release)
