The association of premium wine estates in Germany, the Verband der Prädikatsweingüter VDP, is apparently considering rejoining the German viticultural association Deutscher Weinbau-Verband. This could help to bundle efforts.

Speaking at the annual VDP wine show in Mainz, VDP president Steffen Christmann confirmed his association was considering returning to the fold of the Deutscher Weinbauverband (DWV). In the light of the challenges presented by the wine regulation and wine market reforms in Europe and in the world, this move could help in better bundling the efforts of both organisations. The VDP had left the DWV in 1995. (WF)
