Wine as a health drink

Readers letter (so far 0)

According to a high-ranking official in the Indian federal state of Maharashtra, wine has now been officially declared as being good for your health.

According to a report in Wine business International, a minister of the federal state, which is the third-largest in India, has come out in favour of a change in perception. Wine should not be placed on the same level as other alcoholic beverages, rather it should be considered to be a product that is good for your health. However, most Indians have not yet realised this, and need to be educated appropriately.

The most important vineyard areas in India are to be found in Maharashtra, although to date only a very small part of the grapes is processed for wine production.
