Readers letter (so far 0)
A new type of sensor is not only able to identify explosives or spoiled food, but will also be able to identify the origin of a wine.
The sensor, which works according to a new principle, was developed by researchers at the University of Maryland (USA). According to media reports, the chip is equipped with living cells, ans able to identify explosives as well as spoiled food, bacteria and other disease vectors, as well as those components of wine that indicate the origin or the variety. Scientists are now working on the problem of keeping the cells alive on the sensor for an extended period. (WF)
