Hawesko posts record figures

Readers letter (so far 0)

The Hawesko wine trade group in Germany has reported good results, apparently at record levels.

In the second quarter of 2008, the Hawesko Holding AG wine trade group has posted a record company result (EBIT) for the group. The company claims the figure of 4,5 million Euros is the best in the company's history. The Hawesko group ended the first six months of 2008 on sales figures of 157,4 million Euros (same period last year: 146,3 million). This is equal to a growth of 8 per cent, at a time when the GfK market research figures indicate the total wine market in Germany declined by 2,5 per cent. The operative profit of the group, too, reached record levels in the fist six months of the year: 9,2 million Euros (last year: 3,4 million). (WF)
