New chairman for Bernkasteler Ring association

Readers letter (so far 0)

After holding the office for 18 years, Dr. Peter Pauly has relinquished his seat as chairman of the Bernkasteler Ring e.V. - the oldest wine auction association in Germany - and has handed over the reins to Martin Kerpen. Dr. Pauly "played a decisive role in shaping the current profile of the Bernkasteler Ring". It was under his leadership that internal comparative blind tastings were introduced, which "contributed to the quality standards of the Bernkasteler Ring, which are internationally respected". In the face of the multitude of challenges to the wine industry, one of the first actions taken by Martin Kerpen was to expand the board: the deputy chairman is Peter Reinert (Kanzern); others on the board include Christa Jüngling (Kesten), Ulrich Franzen (Bremm), Heike Clüsserath (Trittenheim), Carl-Josef Loewen (Leiwen) and Johannes Schmitz (Ürzig). The contact person for members is Hans-Bernd Pütz, as general manager, as well as the former wine queen for the Mosel region, Katja Fehres.
