Drought continues to be a problem
Readers letter (so far 0)
Australian wine producers are still suffering under the drought, with thousands fighting for survival.
As reported by Wine Business International, around 5.000 Australian wine producers are fighting for survival. Producers in the Murray-Darling Basin are particularly affected. Many of them will have to decide in the next few months whether they should rather get out of the wine-growing business, when the water allocations for the next twelve months are announced. There are many indications the allocations are unlikely to be increased, and in some cases may even be further reduced. Producers in other regions of Australia are not affected to qzute the same extent, but are also in many cases chafing under water restrictions. (WF)
