Vinum
25.06.2009
Sale completed, leaves open questions

Readers letter (so far 0)

It appears that even after the sale of the Vinum wine magazine, all the details are not yet settled.

In a press release, the Landwirtschaftsverlag publishing house, up to now the owner of Vinum, states that the Swiss trade and special interest publishing group KünzlerBachmann Medien AG in St. Gallen has acquired the majority shareholding (86 %) in Intervinum AG, Zürich, from the Landwirtschaftsverlag GmbH in Münster. From this it follows that KünzlerBachmann has also "secured the right to supply and be supplied by Vinum GmbH, Münster".

The Intervinum AG group in Zürich owns shares in Spain in Opus Wine S.L., Madrid, as well as a small share in Swiss company Giveawine AG, Zürich. This means that by means of this transaction "the Landwirtschaftsverlag GmbH, Münster, has withdrawn from the consumer wine segment".

What remains open for the moment is what is going to happen to the German edition of Vinum, to what extent the Swiss editors will contribute articles, and what the future holds for the employees of Vinum in Germany. (WF/press release)
