Michel Barnier, minister of agriculture in France, and Alain Juppé, for many years the mayor of Bordeaux, yesterday opened the 15th edition of the Vinexpo wine trade fair. 2.400 exhibitors from 48 countries are participating.

The Club Vinexpo, which is reserved for major buyers, this year lists 1.600 members. In terms of exhibition space, France leads the field, followed by Italy, Spain and Portugal. More than 170 companies from the Americas are exhibiting their wines, from Chile, Argentina, the USA, and for the first time, Brazil.
