Banfi's Brunello released for sale

The authorities concerned have released the 2003 Brunello di Montalcino of the Banfi estate in Tuscany for sale.

The wine was confiscated in the spring of this year, in order to investigate alleged irregularities in the varietal composition of the wine. The matter has since been cleared up: an analysis showed that the 2003 vintage consists exclusively of Sangiovese. Banfi has announced the wine will be supplied to the trade with immediate effect.
