The small wine-producing country of Slovenia is appearing on the screens of wine journalists with increasing frequency.

Although Slovenia is among the smaller wine-producing countries in Europe, it is being mentioned ever more frequently in reports and cólumns around the world. Wein-plus has already tasted numerous Slovenian wines, and British author Jancis Robinson has also recently - for the third time within a space of several weeks - devoted her online column to Slovenian wine, most recently to the 2007 Furmint Verus. Her colleague Corie Brown of the Los Angeles Times has also written about these "wild, wild wines" and reported that white and red wines from Slovenia are currently fashionable in the hippest restaurants in Hollywood.
