Vinexpo fully booked

Readers letter (so far 0)

No signs of a crisis: the Vinexpo international wine and spirits fair, to be held in Bordeaux from 21 to 25 June 2009, reports exhibition space is again fully booked this year.

2.400 exhibitors from 45 countries will be attending Vinexpo. Italy, France and Spain, which together account for 52.5 per cent of world wine production, and export 5.6 billion bottles of table wine worldwide each year, have broad representation, both with country and regional exhibits as well as in the form of renowned producers with their own stands, such as Luigi Cecchi & Figli, Casa Vinicola Zonin, Gonzalez-Byass, Hugel & Fils, Georges Duboeuf, Champagne Louis Roederer or Castel Frères. Whereas Chile and Argentina have booked the same floor space as in 2007, the generic stands from Mexico, Portugal and South Africa will be expanding their stand space (by + 4,4 per cent, + 8 per cent and + 22 per cent respectively).

Overall, the show provides exhibition space totalling 90.000 square metres. This includes the exhibition halls and gardens, the Club du Lac, the restaurants, conference and tasting rooms and all the service facilities. This year, the members of the Club du Lac are Baron Philippe de Rothschild, Concha y Toro, Champagne Deutz, Les Grands Chais de France, Lanson International, CVBG Dourthe Kressmann and Champagne Louis Roederer. These seven prestige companies will be receiving their guests in elegant individual pavilions providing a view of the lake. (WF/press release)
