Readers letter (so far 0)
Politicians in Rheinland-Pfalz in Germany evidently still consider Dornfelder to be a grape variety with a future.
Sectretary of state for viticulture Englert stated peripherally at a wine-tasting competition that he considers Dornfelder to be "the shooting star in the range of options available to local wine producers. He claims the variety has establisged itself in the minds of consumers as the new German red wine.
The state of Rheinland-Pfalz is supporting and funding a major campaign to increase sales of Dornfelder.
