Winemaking talents in parliament
Readers letter (so far 0)
Young, talented wine-makers from the Nahe region have been promoting Riesling, Pinot Noir and other varieties to members of the Bundestag, the German federal parliament.
The young winemakers, who are members of the Nahetalente (www.nahetalente.de) and Nahe 7 (www.nahe-sieben.de)associations were greeted by the parliamentary wine forum under the heading of "Young Talents".
The wine forum was founded five years ago by member of parliament Julia Klöckner. The board today consists of the following members: Ulrike Höfken (Greens), Dr. Gesine Lötzsch (Left), Gustav Herzog (SPD), Dr. Volker Wissing (FDP) and Julia Klöckner (CDU/CSU). They regularly invite German wine producers, in order to learn more about their products, and also to poll their opinions on viticultural policies. (WF)
