The best young winemakers in Germany have been selected - with first and second places going to the Mosel.
The German agricultural society (Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft e.V. DLG) has selected three graduates of the college at Geisenheim as the best young winemakers of 2008. The best young winemaker of the year is Matthias Meierer ( Meierer estate, Kesten, Mosel), the second prize goes to Maximilian Ferger (Weingut Witwe Dr. H. Thanisch estate, Bernkastel-Kues, also on the Mosel). Third place went to Andreas Braunecker from the Rudolf Bosch estate in Kronau Baden. All three completed a comprehensive, practically-orientated degree course at the campus in Geisenheim. (WF/Presse release FH Geisenheim)
