DWI honours sommeliers

The German Wine Institute (Deutsches Weininstitut - DWI) in its wine service competition has named Karin Röthke as the best sommelier, and Michael Köhle as the best young sommelier.
Second place in the wine service competition went to Corinna Schilling, sommelier at the Kaiserstuhl co-operative in Ihringen in Baden, followed by Richard-Martin Kerber, sommelier at the Zum Hirschen hotel in Staufen in the Black Forest. At the parallel competition for young service staff in restaurants and in the trade, 22-year-old Michael Köhle, assistant sommelier at the Hotel Bareiss in Baiersbronn took the first place. 21-year-old Daniel Kiowski, commis-sommelier in Franz Keller's guest house Schwarzer Adler in Oberbergen in the Kaiserstuhl region, took second place, and 22-year-old Sarah Schwarz, assistant restaurant manager at the Mercure-Hotel Berlin-Tempelhof, took third place.
