Alain Fion to retire: the long-term head og the Champagne Information Office will in future be attending to his private sparkling wine intersts.

After more than 37 years of promoting the wines of Champagne, Alain Fion is retiring from his position as head of the CIVC office for Germany and Austria (association of champagne houses and growers). Fion founded the office in 1971; at that time just on two million bottles of champagne were exported to Germany each year, now the figure has risen to 13 million.
