Cork clinic in Germany
Readers letter (so far 0)
For the first time, Australian wine producer Penfolds will be opening its ocrk clinic in Germany.
Penfolds winemaker Peter Gago will be recorking old Penfolds wines on the 10th of October. All owners of Penfolds red wines of the 1993 vintage or older that show signs of a leaking cork, or of a low fill height, etc., can make an appointemnt to receive this special treatment, this includes tasting the wine, filling up the bottle, and professional recorking. A certificate will be provided, together with an estimate of the current value of each bottle. Penfolds is probably the only estate in the world to provide this service regularly.
The cork clinic opens its doors at Unger Wines in Frasdorf, close to Aschau, on the 1oth of October 2008. The analysis and recorking service are available free of charge to all wine enthusiasts, the only condition is that an appointment is made ahead of time under www.penfolds.com/clinics. (WF)
