A winemaker died in a serious accident in his vineyard close to Klüsserath on the Mosel river yesterday. It is the second serious work-related accident of this type in the last few months.

As reported by local media, a serious accident took place yesterday afternoon in a vineyard close to Klüsserath, in which a 49-year-old winemaker lost his life. The tractor, which he was evidently using to spray his vineyards, crashed down a slope over a distance of around 70 metres, and the winemaker died in hospital shortly afterwards. Mosel winemaker Ulrich Franzen died in a similar accident just a few months ago. (WF)
