Winemaker killed

Christian Wölffer, who owns a wine estate, has been killed in a bathing accident in Brazil.

Christian Wölffer, who was born in Hamburg, was killed on 31st December while bathing off the Brazilian coast. Wölffer, who owns the Wölffer Estate Vineyards in the state of New York in the USA, and has built this up since 1987, was apparently run over by a boat. It appears it was probably an accident, but authorities have so far not specifically ruled out the possibility of a capital crime. (WF)
