Latium

DOC for white wine in the Latium wine-growing region in Italy. The zone includes the commune of Gallicano nel Lazio as well as parts of the commune of Zagarolo, from which the name i staken, in the province of Roma. Wines produced here have been popular since the 16th century. The wine is made from any combination of Trebbiano Toscano, Trebbiano Verde and Trebbiano Giallo (30-100%), Malvasia Bianca di Cansia and/or Malvasia Puntinata (up to 70%), as well as optionally from Bovino and Bellone (maximum of 10% of each). It is available in Secco and Amabile versions. If the wine has a minimum alcohol content of 12,5% vol it may be designated as Superiore on the label.
