Top wines in Domain Verbicaro DOC

DOC for dry red, rosé and white wines in the wine-growing region of Calabria in Italy. The zone includes parts of the communes of Grisolia, Orsomarso, San Domenico Talao, Santa Maria del Cedro as well as of Verbicaro, from which the name is taken, in the province of Cosenza. The Bianco is made from Greco Bianco (30-100%), Malvasia Bianca (up to 40%), Guarnaccia Bianca (up to 30%), as well as optionally from other permitted white varieties (up to 30%). Rosso and Rosato are blends made from Guarnaccia Nera = Galioppo and/or Greco Nero (60-80%), with any combination of the white varieties Greco Bianco, Guarnaccia Bianca and Malvasia Bianca (20-40%), as well as from other permitted red varieties (up to 20%). If it has a minimum alcohol content of 12,5% vol., and has been matured for three years, the Rosso may be called a Riserva.
