DOCG for dry red wine in the wine-growing region of Umbria in Italy. The zone includes the commune of Torgiano in the province of. DOCG status was awarded in 1991. The wine is ruby-coloured, and is a blend made from Sangiovese (50-70%), Canaiolo (15-30%), Montepulciano and Ciliegiolo (up to 25%) and Trebbiano Toscano (up to 10%). The wine must be matured for a minimum of three years before being sold, and must have a minimum alcohol level of 12,5% vol. See also under the DOC region Torgiano.
