Apulia

DOC for dry red and rosé wines in the wine-growing region of Apulia in Italy. The zone includes parts of the communes of Cellino San Marco, San Pietro Vernotico and Torchiarolo in the province of Brindisi, as well as of the communes of Campi Salentina, Lecce, Novoli, Squinzano, Surbo and Trepuzzi in the province of Lecce. Rosso and Rosato are made from Negroamaro (70-100%), as well as from any one or more of the varieties Malvasia Nera di Brindisi, Malvasia Nera di Lecce and Sangiovese (up to 30%). If matured for two years, and with a minimum alcohol content of 12,5% vol, the Rosso may be called a Riserva.
