DOC for red. rosé and white wines in the wine-growing region of Campania in italy. The zone includes parts of the communes of Castelvenere, Cerreto Sannita, Faicchio, Frasso Telesino, Guardia Sanframondi, Melizzano, San Lorenzello, San Lorenzo Maggiore, San Salvatore Telesino, Solopaca, Telese Terme and Vitulano in the province of Benevento. The Bianco is a blend made from Trebbiano Toscano (40-60%), with Malvasia Bianca di Candia (max 20%), Malvasia Toscana (max 20%), Coda di Volpe and Falanghina (together 40-60%), as well as optionally from other permitted white varieties (up to 20%). The Rosso and Rosato are blends made from Sangiovese (50-60%), Aglianico (20-40%), as well as from other permitted red varieties (up to 30%). If matured for one year, and with a minimum alcohol content of 12,5% vol, the Rosso may be called a Superiore. The varietal-labelled Aglianico and Falanghina wines must contain a minimum of 85% of the stated variety, the remainder may be made up of other permitted varieties of the same colour. The Spumante is made from Falanghina (minimum of 60%) as well as from other permitted white varieties (up to 40%).
