DOC for dry red and rosÃ© wine in the wine-growing region of Calabria in Italy. The zone includes the commune of Isola di Capo Rizzuto, from which the name is taken, as well as parts of the communes of Crotone and Cutro in the province of Catanzaro. Rosso and Rosato are blends made from Gaglioppo (40-60%), with any mixture of one or more of the varieties Malvasia Nera, Nocera, Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio (40-60%), as well as optionally from the white varieties Malvasia Bianca Lunga and/or Greco Bianco (maximum of 35%).
