DOC for dry red wine in the wine-growing region of Apulia in Italy. The zone includes the entire commune of Barletta, from which the name is taken, and parts of the communes of Andria and Trani (all three in the province of Bari), as well as the communes of San Ferdinando di Puglia and Trinitapoli (Foggia province). The wine is made from Uva di Troia (70-100%), as well as from any combination of Sangiovese, Montepulciano and Malbech (up to 30%). If it is amtured for two years, it may be called Invecchiato. The wine is similar to that of the DOC Rosso Canosa.
