Liguria

DOC for white, rosé and red wines in the wine-growing region of Liguria in Italy. This is a large zone, including the major western part of the region, with the provinces of Genoa (2 communes), Imperia (67 communes) and Savone (46 communes). The varietal-labelled wines Pigato, Ormeasco (Dolcetto), Ormeasco Sciacchetrà (a rosé), Rossese and Vermentino may contain a maximum of 5% of other permitted varieties of the same colour. If a Pigato, Rossese or Vermentino wine is sourced exclusively from a defined zone, the wine may bear the additional designation Albenga or Albengalese, Finale or Finalese and Riviera dei Fiori on the label. In this case, the designation Riviera dei Fiori may be used for the Ormeasco.
