Emilia Romagna

DOC for white wines in the wine-growing region of Emilia-Romagna in Italy. This is an extensive zone, through which the Reno river, from which the name is taken, flows, and includes 28 communes in the province of Bologna and 5 communes in the province of Modena. The varietal-labelled wines Montuni (made from the Montù grape) and Pignoletto are made from a minimum of 85% of the respective variety stated, the remainder may be made up of other permitted varieties of the same colour. Both are also produced in Frizzante versions. The Bianco is a blend of Albana and/or Trebbiano Romagnolo (40-60%), as well as from other permitted white varieties (up to 60%). All the still wines are available in Secco, Amabile, Abboccato and Dolce versions.
