Apulia

DOC for dry red and white wine in the wine-growing region of Apulia in Italy. The zone includes parts of the communes of Brindisi, Carovigno, Ceglie Messapica, Latiano, Ostuni, San Michele Salentino and San Vito dei Normanni in the province of Brindisi. A wine from Ostuni was first mentioned in a document dated 1600 AD. The Bianco is a blend made from the indigenous varieties Impigno (50-85%), Francavilla (15-50%), as well as Bianco d´Alessano and/or Verdeca (up to 10%). The red Ottavianello is made from the variety of the same name (85-100%), as well as optionally from one or more of the varieties Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera, Notar Domenico and Susumaniello (up to 15%).
