DOC for dry red and rosÃ© wines in the wine-growing region of Apulia in Italy. The zone includes the commune of Nardo, from which the name is taken, as well as the commune of Porto Cesareo in the province of Lecce. Rosso and Rosato are made from Negroamaro (80-100%), as well as optionally from any one or a combination of Montepulciano, Malvasia Nera di Lecce and Malvasia Nera di Brindisi (up to 20%). If matured for two years and with a minimum alcohol content of 12,5% vol the Rosso may be called a Riserva.
