DOC for red wines on the island of Sardinia off the coast of Italy. The zone includes 109 communes in the province of Cagliari and 79 communes in the province of Oristano. The wines are pure varietal wines made exclusively from Monica grapes. The sweet version has an alcohol level of 14,5% vol., the dry Secco (also called Dry) has 14% vol. The sweet Liquoroso as well as the dry Liquoroso Secco (also called Liquoroso Dry) have an alcohol content of 17,5% vol, both are also available as Riservas if they have been matured for two years.
