A special concept, resp. a group of companies dedicated to the production and distribution of Italian wine, it has its headquarters in Milan. The chief oenologist is Francesco Zardini. The wines are made exclusively for Machiopolo, with strict requirements set fort he contract growers and wineries. They are then delivered to the headquarters in Milan in bulk, where they are then bottled, labelled, and matured in bottle. There are currently contract partners in the following regions: Apulia, Campania, Lombardy, Sicily and Veneto. The product range includes wines from the DOC/DOCG regions Franciacorta, Malvasia delle Lipari, Monreale (Perricone, Nero d´Avola) and Valpolicella (Amarone, Recioto), as well as many IGT wines. The bottle design was awarded the 1st prize for packaging at the 2006 Vinitaly show.
