DOC (also known as Guardiolo) for dry red, rosé and white wines in the wine-growing region of Campania in Italy. The zone includes parts of the communes of Castelvenere, Guardia Sanframondi, San Lorenzo Maggiore and San Lupo in the province of Benevento. The varietal-labelled wines Falanghina (also made as a Spumante) and Aglianico must contain a minimum of 90% of the stated variety, the remainder may be made up of other permitted varieties of the same colour. The Bianco is a blend made from Malvasia Bianca di Candia (50-70%), Falanghina (20-30%), as well as optionally from other permitted white varieties (up to 10%). Rosso (also made as a Novello) and Rosato are made from Sangiovese (80-100%), as well as optionally from other permitted red varieties. If it has a minimum alcohol content of 12,5% vol and is matured for two years, the Rosso may be called a Riserva.
