Campania

DOC for dry white wine in the wine-growing region of Campania in Italy. The zone includes the communes of Altavilla Irpina, Chiance, Montefusco, Petruro Irpino, Prata di Principato Ultra, Santa Paolina, Torrioni and Tufo, from which the name is taken, in the province of Avellino. The wine is made from Greco Bianco (85-100%) and optionally also from Coda di Volpe (up to 15%), it has a bouquet of roasted almonds. A Spumante version is also available. Practically the entire production is accounted for by the huge Mastroberardino estate. DOCG status was awarded in 2003 for still wine and Spumante.
