The Primitivo labelled as such is a pure varietal wine made from this variety, if it has a minimum alcohol content of 14% vol and has been matured for two years it may be called a Riserva. The sweet Aleatico Dolce (also made as a Riserva) and Aleatico Liquoroso Dolce wines are made from Aleatico (85-100%), as well as optionally from any combination of Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera and Primitivo (up to 15%). The dry Bianco is a blend made from Trebbiano Toscano (50-70%), as well as from other permitted white varieties (30-50%). The dry Rosso and Rosato wines are blends of Primitivo (50-60%), as well as from any combination of Montepulciano, Negro Amaro, Sangiovese and a maximum of 10% of Malvasia Nera (total of 40-50%).
