DOC for dry red wine in the Piemonte wine-growing region in Italy. The zone includes parts of the communes of Gabiano and Moncestino on the south banks of the Po river in the province of Alessandria. The wine is a blend made from Barbera (90-95%), as well as from Freisa and/or Grignolino (5-10%). If it has been matured for two years and has a minimum alcohol content of 12,5% vol it may be called a Riserva.
