Top wines in Domain Fiano di Avellino DOC
DOCG for dry white wine in the wine-growing region of Campania in Italy. The classification was only brought into effect in 2003. The zone includes 25 communes in the province of Avellino. The classical, and best, region lies around the town of Lapio, to the north-east of Avellino. This white wine is one of the best in southern Italy, and is made from Fiano (85-100%), as well as optionally from Trebbiano Toscano and/or Coda di Volpe and/or Greco (up to 15%). The bouquet is both delicate and lingering, and is reminiscent of hazel nuts, pears and spices. The best-known producer is the Mastroberardino estate.
