DOC for red and white wines in the Marches wine-growing region in Italy. The zone includes the entire province of Ancona as well as parts of the province of Macerata, with almost 60 communes. The Bianco (also made as a Frizzante) is made from Verdicchio (50-100%) as well as optionally from other permitted white varieties (up to 50%). The Rosso (also made as a Novello) is made from Sangiovese and/or Montepulciano (60-100%), as well as optionally from other permitted red varieties (up to 40%).
