DOC for red wines in the Piemonte wine-growing region in Italy. The zone includes the entire area of the communes of Pagno and Piasco, as well as parts of the communes of Brondello, Busca, Castellar, Costigliole Saluzzo, Manta, Saluzzo and Verzuolo in the province of Cuneo. Rosso is made from Barbera and/or Nebbiolo and/or Pelaverga (60-100%), as well as optionally from other permitted red varieties (up to 40%). Varietal-labelled Pelaverga (in Secco and Amabile) and Quagliano (in Secco and Dolce styles) must contain 100% of the stated variety. A sweet Quagliano Spumante is also produced.
