DOC for dry red wines in the Piemonte wine-growing region in Italy. The zone includes around 27 communes in the province of Torino. The Rosso is a blend made from Barbera (60-75%), Freisa (25-40%), as well as from other permitted red varieties (up to 15%). The varietal-labelled Barbera, Bonarda, Malvasia and Pelaverga (also known as Cari) wines are made from the respective stated varieties (85-100%) as well as optionally from other permitted red varieties (up to 15%).
